    In the name of god amen the xvth day of Janvuarye 1624 I Richard Wooluet of Ingatstone in the Countye of Essex beinge sicke in bodye but perfecte in memorie thankes be Giuen to God doe make this my last will & testament in mannor & forme Following, vid.
    first I Comend my soule into the handes of almightye god hopeing assuredly thoroughe the onlye merittes of Jesus Christ my sauiour & redeemer to be made partaker of life everlastinge, next I Comend my body to the earthe whereof it was made,
    Item I giue to my sonne John Wooluet one tenament lyinge & beinge within the parishe of Fryerninge beinge Freehould with thappurtenances thervnto belonginge, provided allwayes that if Christopher Merritt or his assignes doe paye vnto the sayd John Wooluet or his assignes the somme of xxx li. of lawfull englishe money in mannor & forme followinge, vid. x li. vpon the first of November next, & x li. vpon the first of November next after that, & other x li. vpon the first of November next Following that, which sommes of money beinge payd accordingly my will is that the sayd Christopher should haue all the deedes & wrightinges of for & Conserninge the sayd Free hould,
    also I Giue him xviij li. & xviij s., which John Stratton should paye me vpon the xxth. of October 1625 & if default of payment be made, then I giue him all the right tyfle & Interest which I the sayd Richard haue or hereafter myght haue of one tenament lyinge withein the parish of Mourten, in lew of the sayd xviij li. xviij s. & I giue him one payer of flexen sheetes & one payer of towen sheetes & three pewter dishes
    Item I giue to Elizabeth Wooluet my Grandaughter iij li. to be payd to her by her Father out of that money before bequeathed when she shall come to the age of xviij yeares
    Item I giue to my sonne Thomas Wooluet whome I haue made my executor & to the heires of his body lawfully beggotten one tenament called Kempes together with Walland & the rest of my Grownd belonging to the same Conteyninge by estimacion xj akers more or lesse, execept & alwayes reserued out of these premises one Cottage yeard & garden plotte thervnto belonging called the kittchen, Conteyning by estimacion v perches more or lesse with thappurtenances to the same, whiche was in the tenor & occupation of the widdow Hogg late deceased, withe a Fitt & Conveniente waye with horsses & Carttes at all times when occation shalbe offerred to goe into through & frome the same Cottage for my sonne Frauncis Wooluet his heires or assignes & likewise a Fitt & Convenient place for to ]aye his timber & wood at all times in the yarde of the sayd Thomas Wooluet without any lett or molestation
    Item I giue to my sonne Frauncis Wooluet & to the heires of his body lawfully begotten one Cottage yeard & Gardenplott before excepted Called the kitchen withe thappurtenances belonging to the same Conteyning v perches more or lesse, with a Fitt & Convenient waye withe horsses & Carttes & for the layinge of timber & woode at all times when need shall require, as is aboue mentioned, without any lett or disturbance, & also Sufficient timber to repration his houuse as often as need shall require ofe of Walland Grownd at the discretion of my ouerseers, & likwise two loades of
    wood yearely & every year of the sayd premises during the natural] life of the sayd Frauncis & his heires also I giue (?)x li. to be payd by my executor within six monthes after my decease & As. yearely & every yeare during the natural] life of the sayd Frauncis, to be payd quarterly, & if it shall happen that my sonne Thomas doe not pay to my sonne Frauncis all those legasies before bequeathed as they ought to be payed, then my will is that Frauncis should haue Thomases parte, & Thomas Frauncis parte, Frauncis paying that to Thomas whiche Thomas should haue payed to Frauncis, & if ether of them Chaunce to dye without issue the one of them to be heire to the other after,
    Further I giue to Frauncis a littell tabell standing in the hall, a glascase in the Chamber, a Joyne bedstead in the same, withe a Couerlett blankett boulster & my best brass pott, to be giuen him at his day of marriage or at the death of his mother in law which shall come first my quarne I Giue to Thomas & Frauncis ioyntly together
    Item I giue to my sonne Richard Wooluet & to the heires of his body lawfully begotten one tenament called torners with all the landes & growndes thervnto belonginge Conteyning by estimacion three acers more or lesse, vpon this Condicion that he shall paye to Joane my wife the soume of iij li. yearlye & every yeare at two the most vsuall feast dayes of payment in the yeare, vntill the sayd Richard shall come to the age of xxi yeares, then my will is that my wife shall haue her third out of that land, also I giue him the bedd & all that belongeth to it in the kitchen Chamber & the table in the milkhouse & further I giue hime x li. to be payed by my executor in mannor & forme Following, vid. v li. within one monthe after my decease & other v li. within a twelue monthe after, the which x li. shalbe payed to my brother in law Frauncis Bernard whome I haue made Choyse of to be gardian to my sonne Richard, for to sell & lett the sayd tenament Called tornors, vntill the sayd Richard shall come to the age of xxj yeares
    Item I giue to my daughter Joane Wooluet the soume of xl li. to be payd to her by my executor when she shall come to the age of xxi yeares or at the day of her mariage whiche of them shall come firste if my ouerseers shall approue of the mariage, also I giue her the bedsteade in the Chamber next the stayers with a Couerlett blankett boulster & my Fetherbed in the sayd Chamber one litle brass pott a flexen tabbell Cloth and a payer of pillowberes
    & Further I giue to my three youngest Children either of them six pewter dishes two payer of towen sheetes & one payer of flexen sheetes, all wich pewter lynnen & other moueables before bequeathed shalbe disposed to the at the discretion of my ouerseers at ther seuerall ages or dayes of mariages as aforesayd, ther mother to keepe them in the meane time, & further my will and meaning is that if ether of them Chaunce to dye before they come to ther ages aforesayd, then his or ther portion of moueables to be equally devided amonge the rest of the brothers
    Item I giue to Joane my moste dear & loueing wife the soume of x li. to be payd to her by my executor within six monthes after my decease also I giue her the morter & warmingpan, as for my Chayers stooles Cushens saltes Candelsticks spoones dishes trenchers tubbes & table napkins to be equally devided to my wife & my four youngest Children at the discretion of my ouerseers, & Thomas to keepe them vntill ther day of ther ages as aforesayd, & if it shall happen that my executor doe not
    performe all suche giftes & leagasies as are by him to be performed, then
    my will is that it shalbe lawful] for any one of them that findes them selues
    so agreeved to enter vpon all Walland & the same to effloy vntill suche time
    as they are satisfied
    also I giue to my wife xxs. a yeare yearly during her natural] life to be payed by my sonne John Wooluet, also I giue her one Cheist in the parlour two Cheistes in the Chamber one tronk & one box & all that is in them one knedingtrough & one ketle which she brought with her during her naturall life, and then to be equally devided amonge my foure youngest Children at the discretion of my ouerseers.
    Item I giue to every one of my owne brothers & sisters vs. apeece to be payed within one monthe after my discease,
    lastly I giue to the poore of Ingatstone xs. to be giuen them within one weeke after my descease at the discretion of my ouerseers
    And I doe Intreat my Father in law John Bernard & my brother in law Frauncis Bernard to be my supervisors, & doe giue them for ther paynes

    all the rest of my goods vnbequeathed my debts & leagasies being payed & performed shall goe to my executor, and if it shall happen at any time hereafter, any doubt or question to grow or arise, by reason of any word or sentence in this my will & testament, for the Further explanation of the sayd doubt I will that my ouerseers shall expownd & make playne the same, according to ther wisdome & good discretion
